It was a day to regroup for our SHSB Men's 2nd Grade, who fell short against New Town Men's 2nd Grade despite Sam Smith's 87.
First up, we made 208/9 from 45 overs. A classy 87 off 90 balls from Sam Smith was the highlight. Darcy Andrikonis made 33 off 52 balls. Austin Keeling returned three for 36 for New Town Men's 2nd Grade.
In reply, our opponents passed our total, finishing on 210/6 in 42.3 overs. Fifty for Trent Millhouse, who made 63 for the hosts. With the ball, Andrikonis did the damage, claiming two for 26 off five overs. George Seward bowled superbly for two for 31.
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with.
We're fifth on the ladder at the moment. Next up is Northern Magpies Men's 2nd Grade next Saturday.
