There was plenty to celebrate as our SHSB Men's 3rd Grade saw off New Town in a finish that went down to the wire.
With the bat first up, we compiled 181/6 from 40 overs. Lachlan Johannesen's 68 off 78 balls was a half-century to remember. Jack Baldwin also got among the runs with 43 off 89 balls. Virender Singh claimed three for 44 for New Town.
The hosts were all out for 171 in 34.1 overs in reply. Dhruv Kumar posted 87 for our opponents, a good fifty. Oliver Brancher bowled cleverly to finish with three for 32. Joel Corbett bowled superbly for two for 20.
It went right down to the wire, but the team got the job done. That makes it two wins in a row. Onwards and upwards.
